Telecom Regulation

Telecom regulation is already a value-added governance process in most countries. It has been implemented in all segments and sub-segments of the sector, from the most basic capabilities like voice calls or texting to the latest applications like mobile payments. In any case, it has been a key first step in the establishment of a framework that attracts new players to the market by building trust in the ecosystem.

Our approach

What we did

As a key national resource, the telecoms sector needs to be harnessed and protected, especially in developing and emerging countries, where oversight capability is often limited.

Our approach includes:

  • Data-driven control of compliance with policies & regulation
  • Enhanced transparency, security & trust
  • Real connection with the regulated sectors, including Telecoms & Fintechs
  • Promotion of the data sovereignty of emerging countries
  • Promotion of trusted digital identities as a driver of digital & financial inclusion

Our result

What we ended up with

Different cases yield different positive results. From no system in place to verify and ensure adequacy between prepaid revenues and associated levies and taxes collected where after an implementation a 33% increase in prepaid revenues after year 1 with average annual growth of 20%.

Where insufficient control over international incoming traffic leads to rampant fraud and revenue leakages we have seen an magnificent 122% increase in revenue.

Where there is lack of reliable data and metrics on Mobile Money, we have seen 100% of MM transactions being accounted for and traceable by the Government.
